Replacement for Broken Miter Gage : DELTA 34-928 Deluxe Table Saw Miter Gauge

The mitre gage supplied from the DeWalt parts depot for the DW745 saw was a total waste of money. Don't even consider it, as it is flimsy, falls out of the track, cannot be clinched down, and is mostly plastic.

In looking at the many other gages on the market, I settled on the Delta 34-928 as likely being the best balance between value and price. This is a solid, top quality mitre gage, with metal and steel parts, 6 adjustments to zero in all the angles, and a large locking handle to firmly tighten down the head and provide a solid hand grip.

Be aware, and it is not clear in the product information, that this gage is designed for a t-track, and as such, in addition to the three adjustments to lock in the gage into the track, there is a mounted washer under the very front of the track. If your saw does not have the t-track for the mitre way, you will have to remove this washer. On mine, it was attached with a screw, but I suspect that was locked into the washer with permanent LocTite, as there was no was I was able to loosen the screw, and my attempts ended with a stripped head. In the end, I ground off the sides of the washer, and it has functioned perfectly since. This is not a major effort, just a few minutes with a Dremel.

Over all this is a great mitre at a good price. I would certainly purchase this again.

Love the machine when working. 34 days into it the built-in breaker trips. I have researched and its a common thing. Amazon won't take it back and Max Tool also willnot take bake (passed the 30 days) they have told me to take to the nearest repair shop ( 40 miles) . NOT ACCEPTABLE.

The miter scale ranges between zero and 46 degrees to the left and zero and 57 degrees to the right, and a micro-miter knob lets you dial in precise angles. Additionally, positive miter stops allow you to easily change the angle of the cutting blade for creating miters in crown molding and other trim pieces.

The bevel scale ranges from zero to 45 degrees to the left and right, allowing your material to stay in place while you flip the saw head to make opposing cuts. After your major bevel angle is secured, a micro-bevel adjustment knob can be used to dial in a precise angle, while positive stops allow for quick and easy measurements and settings.

I just purchased this saw after my 12 Dewalt spindle lock broke. I couldn't be more happy. This saw performs to the upmost challenge. I do a lot of trim work and the miters are right on the money. Cross cutting large stock is perfect every time. The adjustable flip over fence is fantastic (both sides) The saw is a bit bulky and a bit too much plastic gingerbread but it is a worker. The slide is smooth and effortless wow I'm happy with this saw and would recommend it to anyone.
